Description

Executes assigned audit activities with guidance from senior associates. Utilizes analytical skills and product/technical expertise necessary to execute assigned responsibilities. Actively contributes and questions during team audit activities (completion of scoping tools, process mapping, risk assessments, Tollgates) and provides input to scope. Identifies control deficiencies, discuses with line management, and initiates control matter recommendations in assigned test areas. Understands and communicates connection of audit findings to broad strategic business objectives. Early stage of development of expertise (product line, technology, etc). Exposed to multiple LOBs to develop understanding of Bank and deepen business acumen. Industry knowledge and awareness, challenges the status quo.

Specific Line of Business Description:

Underwrites large or more difficult/complex residential loans ensuring compliance with appropriate company and secondary market investor standards. Examines loan documentation for accuracy and completeness. Works with loan originator or production staff to secure all required documents. May provide training and direction to more junior staff. Have authority to withdraw and decline loans. May develop and recommend modifications to underwriting and production procedures. Responsibilities include one or several types of mortgage lending (conventional, government-backed, etc.) May respond to individual and investor audits.
Qualifications

Required Skills:

* Must have minimum 5 years underwriting ‘A” paper loans to include conventional, jumbo and Government. If candidate holds a DE, then only 2 years of Government experience required, along with the 5 years of underwriting ‘A’ paper loans.
* Must be proficient in all AUS systems and tax return analysis.

Desired Skills:

* DE certification from HUD
